He grabbed the ring and pulled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hatch opened with a long, rusty creak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beneath the coffin was a deep vertical shaft. An old iron ladder descended into complete darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
